El Yunque is the first of five America the Beautiful 5 oz Silver bullion coins to be released by the U.S. Mint in 2012. Located in Puerto Rico and originally called Luquillo National Forest, El Yunque became the 11th national site to join the National Park system on January 17, 1903 and it is the 11th coin in the America the Beautiful series. The 2012 5 oz Silver ATB El Yunque National Park is a must have for your collection with:
- 5 oz of .999 Fine Silver: A large popular coin that’s easy to buy, store and sell. With weight, purity and authenticity guaranteed by the U.S. Mint, it has a face value of a quarter dollar.
- Intricately Detailed Design: Because this 5 oz Silver coin is a full 3 inches in diameter, it shows details that smaller coins cannot. This tribute to El Yunque features the rain forest’s indigenous Coqui tree frog and endangered Puerto Rican Parrot in their natural habitats of tropical foliage.
- Brilliant Uncirculated Condition: This coin is in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and is protected by a plastic capsule. Multiples of ten will come in mint issued tubes.
